In astrology 2nd house is known for money, family, education, right eye, bank balance, etc. For primary education 2nd house should be considered. For degree, 4th house must be taken into consideration. For higher education like PhD, Research in any field, 9th house is taken into consideration.
If owner of the 4th house is in the 4th house or is strong in the birth-chart one can get degree easily. If owner of the house is connected with 9th house in any manner, one can get higher education also going abroad for this purpose.
In astrology 11th house is known for the house of fulfillness of desires. So if it strong, one can fulfill his desires.
Ascendent denotes one’s will and the characteristics of nature.
Now; we refer to the planets which interest in various faculties:
SUN: If Sun is powerful in the birth-chart, one may prefer medical line, other subjects are Rajya-Shastra, Ayurvedic, etc.

JUPITER: Jupiter gives success in Law, Philosophy, Economics, Agriculture, Science, Literature, Veterinarian studies, etc.
VENUS: Gives success in Economics, Drama, Cinema, Story-writing, Poet, Painting, Interior decoration, Music, etc.
SATURN: Gives success in Astronomy, Chemical, Machinery, Laws Engineering, Research, Philosophy, etc.
RAHU: Gives success in Photography, Painting, Art, Chemical, Engineering.
KETU: Gives success in Dental, Agricultural, Philosophy, Tailoring, Machinery, etc.
It gives different results as two or more planet become powerful in the Birth chart.
